Disappointed with value for cost
I was a client of Shared Practices Coaching, and honestly, I was disappointed with the value for the cost. At around $50,000 a year, I expected substantially more value than they received.

Good podcast, mediocre paid community
The free podcast is excellent — genuinely one of the best resources for dentists interested in practice ownership. However, the paid community didn't add much beyond what I was already getting from the podcast and free resources.
The coaching calls are group sessions, so you don't get much individualized attention. If you have a specific situation, you might wait weeks to get your question addressed.
It's affordable, so the risk is low. But I expected more structure and direct coaching for even the modest price.
Best value in dental education — love the community
I've been listening to the Shared Practices podcast since 2018 and joined the paid community in 2020. Richard and the team have built something really special here.
The community is genuine — people share real numbers, real struggles, and real wins. Unlike some other groups, there's no posturing or guru worship. The transparency about practice finances has been incredibly valuable for benchmarking.
At $300/month for the coaching tier, it's a fraction of what other programs charge. The ROI for me has been massive — I've implemented systems I learned here that added $200K+ to my annual production.
Only knock is that the platform (Circle) could be better organized. Searching for past discussions is clunky.
Money over patients
Money is their #1, no matter what expense it costs the patient. Stay away from this company if you truly care about dentistry and the patients.
Don't waste your time

no work life balance. Expectations don't match salary or training. Amateur leadership (since when is 5 offices considered a regional manager?) Gossipy
Save your money
I regret spending money on Shared Practices for their practice acquisition community and education services. The program felt like a sales funnel for more expensive tiers rather than a standalone value proposition. The basic level gave me very little that I could not get from a good dental practice management book.

Deep dive into practice management
This was a really great opportunity for me to be able to have more of a deep dive into practice management, systems and philosophies than I had been learning about from outside resources or my own study. I highly recommend shared practices and their mastermind for anybody who's looking to prepare themselves for ownership.

Good foundation but needs more depth
Shared Practices provides a solid foundation in practice acquisition community and education principles. I appreciated the structured curriculum and the peer learning opportunities. My main criticism is that the follow-up support after the program ends is lacking. Would benefit from more ongoing mentorship options.
Horrible place to work
All they care about is money, unrealistic expectations, if you do not hit your goal they will fire you. There is no job stability. They also do not have great training which sets you up for failure. They sell you how great the company but it is far from great. The pay is not terrible but who knows how...
