Positive onboarding experience with welcoming team
I had a really positive experience onboarding as a new hire here at The DEO. I was trained at my own pace and I felt instantaneously welcomed by the team.
Micromanagement and no real product
They offer no benefits, micromanage you down to the wording of your emails, and it’s all about the show.
DSO building and leadership materials well-produced
DSO building and dental group leadership materials are well-produced and the speakers are knowledgeable
Team running on instinct pre-DEO
was running on instinct. They had unclear KPIs, were lagging in collections, and had no leadership structure.

Great concept but felt too small for their world
With 2 locations, I thought DEO would be a good fit for my growth plans. While the content is excellent, I felt completely out of my league. Most members have 5-20+ locations, and the discussions often assumed a level of infrastructure (HR departments, regional managers) that I simply didn't have.
The smaller breakout groups were more helpful, but even there, I was the smallest operator. It's not that anyone was unwelcoming — they were all great — but the advice just didn't scale down to my level.
I'd recommend waiting until you have 4-5+ locations before joining. The $12K/year would have been better spent on a 1-on-1 consultant at my stage.
Essential for anyone building a dental group or DSO
DEO has been the single most valuable investment in my dental group's growth. When you're scaling past 3-4 locations, the challenges are completely different from running a single practice, and DEO understands this better than anyone.
The summit events are incredible — you're in a room with people who are 2-5 years ahead of you, and the connections alone are worth the membership fee. I've found my COO, two associate dentists, and a billing company through DEO connections.
The coaching tracks are well-designed for different stages of growth. They don't try to be everything to everyone — they're laser-focused on multi-location dental.
Cost is high ($15K/year for my tier) but trivial relative to the scale of business we're discussing.
Diverse culture with customer priority but compensation concerns
Diverse culture with customer priority. The DEO is focused on multiplying dentistry right so it's not for people that just have a single practice it's for entrepreneurs. Salary is not comfortable for excellent life.

Scaled from 3 to 11 practices by solving revenue cycle management
Dr. Vajahat Yar Khan, DEO Elite Member and CEO of DentTracks & USA Dental Solutions, scaled from 3 to 11 practices by solving one of the biggest headaches in dentistry: revenue cycle management.
Some good takeaways, some filler
DEO (Dental Entrepreneur Organization) covers DSO building and dental group leadership topics well at a high level. Got a few good nuggets I implemented right away. However, some sessions felt like they were padding the content. The networking with other dentists was probably the most valuable part for me.
Mixed experience overall
My experience with DEO (Dental Entrepreneur Organization) was mixed. The DSO building and dental group leadership materials are well-produced and the speakers are knowledgeable. But I felt like the program was designed for a different stage of practice than mine. Some content was too basic, other parts assumed knowledge I did not have yet.
Good foundation but needs more depth
DEO (Dental Entrepreneur Organization) provides a solid foundation in DSO building and dental group leadership principles. I appreciated the structured curriculum and the peer learning opportunities. My main criticism is that the follow-up support after the program ends is lacking. Would benefit from more ongoing mentorship options.
